This page is only visible to members.             Joaquin Ais is currently studying at the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (UBA, Buenos Aires, Argentina) to get my degree in Biological Sciences. He started working at the Laboratoratorio de Neurociencia Integrativa (LNI) in February 2011 under Dr. Pablo Barttfeld’s
supervision, characterizing the autistic brain, its connectivity and its unique perception. This introduced me to field of
Metacognition. Which led me, afterwards, to study the metacognitive ability in adult subjects and analyze how this ability varies in normal population, utilizing different perceptual tasks and electrophysiological (EEG) correlations. Since October 2012, he became a member of the Little Teachers project. And currently I preparing my thesis project at the Laboratorio de Neurociencia, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT, Buenos Aires Argentina), under the supervision of Dr. Cecilia Calero. My rol in this project is to unveiling the rol of metacognitive’s skills for children during learning and teaching episodes. Diana Ali is a graduate of King’s University College of Western University, where she obtained an Honors Bachelor degree in Psychology. Her undergraduate research on Matrix Energetics was published in the Journal of Consciousness Exploration and Research as a co-author to Dr. Imants Baruss and Carolyn Van Lier. For the past 9 years, Diana has been working as a Content Developer at mindyourmind.ca, a youth mental health program that provides information, resources and coping tools to young people struggling with stress, self-harming behaviors, mental health issues and suicide. She believes that the exploration of inner consciousness can lead to personal growth, development and ultimately healing. diana@mindyourmind.ca.   Mindy Atkin, Ph.D., ATR-BC LCAT, is a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed creative arts therapist, author and fine artist. Dr. Atkin maintains a private practice in Old Brookville, New York and provides clinical care in several skilled nursing facilities in New York. She has exhibited her paintings in galleries in New York City and Long Island. Dr. Atkin is the author of, ‘The Healing Power of Creative Expression’: Artwork of Martin Ramirez in Della Pietra, L. (Ed.), Perspectives on Creativity. Her interest in creativity as a healing mechanism promoting flexibility, adaptability and resilience (FAR) ™ was the focus of her dissertation research titled, The Long Term Use of Creativity in the Promotion of Healing in a Chronic Psychiatric Inpatient: a Case Study. Dr. Atkin has presented at Yale University, The American Psychological Association (APA), The National Alliance for Mental  Illness (NAMI), Long Island University and various hospitals in New York. Dr. Atkin supervises clinicians seeking licensure. As the Director of a Behavioral Unit serving chronic psychiatric aged adults she incorporated the daily use of creativity resulting in the utilization of the least amount of physical and chemical restraints according to the Department of Health in the State of New York in 2009. Baars, Ph.D is former Senior Research Fellow in Theoretical Neurobiology at the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego. He is interested in human language, the brain basis of consciousness, volition, and a variety of related topics. Baars pioneered a cognitive theory of consciousness called Global Workspace Theory, which is widely cited in philosophy and science. Together with William P. Banks, Baars has edited the journal Consciousness & Cognition for more than fifteen years. He has written an introductory text for cognitive neuroscience, called Cognition, Brain & Consciousness: An Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience.
